Top 10 Rules of Blogging

1. Content is king
Above all, visitors are coming to your blog for information… so have some!

2. Easy to use
Have an easy to use blog. Make the navigation usable and the content accessible.

3. Grammar, spelling, and content that flows
If you’re not expect a bunch of 8th graders to read your blog then don’t write like one.

4. Organization
Categorize your content so that readers can easily find their way through your post.

5. Consistency
Content consistent to category and theme of blog

6. Involve the reader
Have the reader participate. Have a poll, comments or even a rating system. By getting feedback from your readers, you can improve your blog and increase your traffic.

7. RSS feed
Have BIG FAT RSS icon. Readers at least want the choice to subscribe.

8. Unique
If you’re using a free template, at least customize the colors!

9. Lively
Have your friends and family look at your blog and make comments. Nobody’s going to comment if your blog looks dead. There’s a reason why the desert’s so empty.
10. Leave the readers wanting more…
